Hi Richard, most of the snow here today has been pelleted. Some occasions of
small flakes but it is pellets on the ground ATM, all stuck down like glue
of course, LOL.
Keep the reports coming, I used to work at HQSTC too many years ago, and I
lived in High Wycombe!

looking at radar you would think we were getting some sharp showers now.
Nothing more than odd spit and spot.

The only snow lying in Romsey is on the top of my car
which received a quick 1cm covering, courtesy of a 15
minute moderate snow shower, east of Amesbury in
Wiltshire just before 5pm, slamming the visibility to
400m at its heaviest.

Keeping my speed to below 50mph ensured that the
sticky, partially frozen snow cover would remain on
my vehicle all the way home. Turned a few heads in
the town centre, I can tell you, as no snow had fallen
anywhere near Romsey!

I think my usually blue car will keep its snowy hat on
tonight as the temperature is now (2225Z) at -0.6C.

Nigel (Romsey, Hampshire)

2315 and 5mm ice pellet shower in progress. Making quite a noise on the
velux and looking quite white outside now!

I think there were two radar blobs - you got the one to the east - we
got the other. A very quick covering that made quite a racket at one
stage ( but I was on duty with the inmates and could not see out even
if I heard it) at about 1815hrs.
Quite bizarre really - all green at dusk and now a good white dusting
- just like that.
1cm I reckon and as it is -2C here, not going anywhere fast
