Default Today's model interpretation (15/06/10)

Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on Saturday.
Issued 0427z, 15/06/10.

The weekend will see generally light northerlies or NW'lies, as high
pressure slowly approaches from the west.

ECMWF: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Recm1201.gif
Northerlies and NW'lies cover the UK, with a high to the west. NW'lies
persist on day 6, followed by light winds due to a col on day 7.

MetO: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rukm1201.gif
The Met Office run shows a northerly flow with a high to the west. The high
declines on day 6 with further northerlies as a result.

GFS: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rtavn1201.png
High pressure is located to the west, leading to northerlies. There are
NW'lies on day 6 as the high moves eastwards, followed by light winds for
all on day 7 as the high moves over the UK.

GEM: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rgem1201.gif
The Canadian run brings northerlies, again with a high to the west.

JMA: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rjma1201.gif
JMA also shows northerlies and a high to the west.

Let's hope it's the latter. I know you disagree, but NW'lies bring much
nicer conditions here in East Kent (especially when compared with this
interminable NE'ly).

Yes, there does seem to have been a predominance of winds from the NE over the
SE of England in the last 6 months - hence the cool, cloudy & mainly dry
conditions in the SE.

No hopes of any thundery activity either!
