Default Sad news about Mike Tullett

I am so very sad to tell you that Mike died on Tuesday. As some of you may
know he had lung cancer and although he had one lung removed, followed by
chemotherapy and radiotherapy last year, another tumour had developed
fairly recently. This had caused swallowing and breathing problems and a
week or so ago, he had a stent put in his throat to ease the pressure and
help his breathing. Sadly, after this he developed pneumonia and it proved
too much for him. He died on Tuesday, his family all with him at the time.

The funeral is tomorrow and he will be buried with his first wife Wendy. I
have today spoken with both Liz, his wife and his son Jamie and they asked
that I let you all know.

I am not usually subscribed to this group these days but will pass on any
messages to the family from here or if anyone wishes to email me.

Very sad news indeed. I spent a little time with Mike at his caravan in Donegal
the year after Wendy died. He was an interesting man and I would have liked to
get to know him better. I'm pleased that I did get the opportunity to meet him.

Indeed, very sad news.
I've only met a handful of members of this group and I'm sorry that
Mike was not amongst them.
I always appreciated Mike's posts and he will be sorely missed by all
on here I'm sure.
My condolences to his friends and family and Mike, thanks so much for
your contributions.

Linda, thank you for letting us know. Tears are welling up in my eyes as I
type this.
Mike was so brave and I really thought that he had won over. Just shows how
precious this life on earth is. Mike was a gentleman and his contributions
on here were knowledgeable, thoughtful and top notch, he will be sorely
missed. I'm pleased his family were around at his leaving.

Sad news. I never met Mike but exchanged many e-mails with him over the
years. He was an absolute gentleman and was always happy to provide
information and explanation. He even managed to explain lapse rates and
trigger temperatures to me. On this newsgroup he always conducted himself
with great dignity. My condolences to his family and friends
