Default Tasty temperatures at the end of this week?

Both the ECM and the gfs are signalling some high temperatures Fri/Sat
for the SE. There's some very warm air forecast to move north from
Spain and El Horno should see 100F+ this week, as might the Dordogne.
Probably it will topple, we'll miss it and Colin will see 90F again,
just like last week. *((

The continent looks like it will get very hot.

I hope so. It just adds insult to injury if we have to suffer hot
weather *without* a good thunderstorm at the end of it.

Yep. after enduring 25C heat we would deserve a good storm.

Twenty-five? Oh FFS, this time of year I don't get out of bed
until it's reached that, a privilege granted to the retired of the
Nocturnal Persuasion.
More seriously, I am suffering from Thunderstorm Deficit Syndrome,
like all of us. There has been *one* day of thunder all year here so
far. One! There seems little correlation between thundery activity
and warmth in this part of the world and if anything it is the
opposite of what might be thought of as intuitive. There seems to be
a large random element which is in fact very circulation-dependent,
and the best one can do is to keep one's eyes open for such
possibilities, which are rarely "textbook" or obvious.

Whither the glorious night-time garlic thunderstorms (as I politically
incorrectly call them) rolling up from the south of the 1980s?

El Horno over 100F already, The Dordogne well into the 90Fs and
Colin's Brussels are almost at 90F. He should be tomorrow. The
heatwave was well signposted, IMO. *))

90F somewhere in the UK please and then I can have a few cool beers on
a few people on Betfair who didn't see it coming and must be a little
worried about getting their fingers burned. *)) .
