Min temp here in the Ludwell Valley last night was 4.4 C, my coldest
August temp in 7 years of records; I see that the airport AWS site recorded 2.0 C ! You're right! Readings this morning show a minimum of 3.4°C, and a grass minimum of 2.4°C. These are the lowest August minimum & grass temperatures in over 5 years. Me poor chillies won't be happy. Despite the unbroken sunshine this morning, it's taking a long time to warm up. (10:35), 14.1°C, RH 80%, DP 10.4°C, 1026 hPa (R), Wind 4 mph NNE. _____________________ Nick Otter Valley, Devon 83 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |

My chillies are now three inches high. Don't know why I bothered really, not a chance outside up here. Enjoy the last of the summer wine, I'm sticking to my autumn forecast of "warm n'wet". Might invest in a new pair of wellies as I fancy we are going to need them. Only 6C here last night with the wind keeping teh temperature up. Will (Haytor, Devon, 1017 feet asl) -- -- |

I always feel that a south facing conservatory is a fantastic heat collector. In fact does any contributor to this NG use solar, heat pumps and wind? I might make this a new thread. |

Wind turbine - no thank you! Too bloomin noisy and not enough constant wind. Solar - yes, I've thought about that. It would work on our SW facing roof a treat, but the cost - pay back is high. If installation becomes cheaper then a definite YES from me! Will -- |
