Here is a summary of the latest NWP output for noon (GMT) on
Wednesday. Issued 0449z, 4/09/10. The second half of the week will see rain affecting much of the UK as a trough moves eastwards. A col will follow, bringing scattered showers, with strengthening southerlies by the weekend. ECMWF: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Recm1201.gif A col covers England, Wales and Northern Ireland, with easterlies for Scotland. A col persists on day 6, followed by southerlies and SW'lies on day 7 as a weak ridge crosses the UK ahead of a low to the west. MetO: http://www.wzkarten.de/pics/Rukm1201.gif Easterlies cover the UK due to a low to the SSW. The low fills and moves NE'wards over England and Wales on day 6, leading to easterlies elsewhere.
