Hi all
Not been on here for a while but I have now managed to get back in via WIndows Live and virgin media Newsgroups. Now what an interesting today was I had to travel from Pudsey near Leeds to Warrington in Cheshire. On departing at 0600 this morning we had 8cm of snow lying. By the time I arrived back home at 1600 we had 23cm lying. What a dump in around 5 hours! Needless to say there has been travel chaos in and around Leeds / Bradford. I can't remember a fall of snow of this magnitude falling during daylight hours and in a short space of time! The snow we had was obviously of a convective nature and came in heavy bursts. Water equivalent very low - 5.8mm according to my Davis gauge! Snow falling now at -2.0 C so still accumulating - Max temp today -1.0C Rob 330 feet AMSL |
