Yes I agree it is a load of melodramatic codswallop. Okay I know some people
who live in Forest Hill SE London who won't be able to use their cars, but
that aint many. I think UKMO under the Labour Party were guided or pushed
to use this OTT terminology due to H&S becoming a political weapon. The only
people I really worry about are the really elderly-you know the forgotten by
the politicians ignored but still liable for tax. Many will find it nigh on
impossible to get out and about. The other issue is shops where people
really do act like lemmings and buy up everything they can.

However at the end of the day just stay at home and wait for it to pass,
it's already petering out here in SE London at 12:19 despite the RED ALERT
TAKE ACTION nonsense.

I see we've now gone Code Orange 'Be prepared'. Gid knows what good a
condom will be!

Temp dropped back as SE wind gains strength from +1.2°C an hour ago to
+0.6°C now.

Quite.
I've got 7 inches here, but most of the news was on about Gatwick Airport.
Though to be fair there was a report from the M6 near Wigan where
people had apparently been trapped in their cars overnight.

All this fuss for one front's worth of snow on the capital when 18"
fell on Scotland a couple of weeks ago and parts of the country really
did grind to a halt, without, I believe, a single red warning. They
probably will send a few soldiers out to clear the drive into Buck
House! You can imagine tomorrow's headlines!!

Actually I thought the red warning was perfectly timed. As soon as
that warning came out it stopped snowing, here in NW Surrey, and even
caught a couple of glimpses of the sun. I took immediate action and
started clearing the drive of snow.

Yes, apart from Heathrow and Gatwick most of the snow news seemed to be
about the M6, Wales and Northern Ireland.
