Having just returned from Hayling Island, there was what appeared to be a
fairly static 'conical' shaped Cirrus cloud fairly static most of the afternoon. It appears to be on this afternoons Sat images - anyone else see it ? Fabulous day on the beach... Max Guildford 25.0c today Phil |

I saw it too and have photo'd but am yet to check it out. The cloud appeared to be situated above the southampton water area most of the day. Yes, Phil, seen from Wokingham too. I think it was cirrus floccus with
virga. As you say, there were a couple of patches seen on this afternoon's sat images. The cloud temperature measured about -25C. -- Bernard Burton Wokingham, Berkshire, UK. I say this strange cloud too from littlehampton!
They looked to me like cirrus with a degree od shear to them. Did anyone see a cirrus cloud like the top of a Cb? It tracked the south coast from Portsmouth direction towards Littlehampton. Simon |
