Colin Youngs Brussels E. Anglian farmers must be in despair. A vigorous summer depression has given them only 9.4 mm max-hardly enough to fill the cracks in the clay. There's more rain to come, but if today can't give them a decent dollop, what chance do they have for the foreseeable future,never mind the rest of the summer? |

Why do these rain systems always seem to run out of puff before they get to east anglia? England is not a large country so how can 50 miles make such a difference?
