Looking at the radar there's not much thunderstorm activity going on
in the SE, and I wouldn't have thought there'd be much action kicking off this late in the day. Or am I missing something? |

Over hyped by the British media. ------------------ Well it was being widely forecast on the "official" BBC forecasts. .... except for here in NE England where they were forecasting 'white cloud' PM, this was a new type of white cloud known only to the BBC forecasters as at around 1600BST there was a huge TS and a huge backbuilding TS slightly later with lightning at 2-3/min + hail + huge raindrops. By 1700BST the murk had come in from the coast and killed it all stone dead. Les |

Correction: Heavy shower and a few rumbles of thunder heard in Milton Keynes. Seems we've just caught the edge of the system. Had to put the house lights on it was so dark!
