but:

Nowadays trying to get is simple answer to a simple question seems
nigh on impossible. You phone up a bank or a utility company and they
want give you an MI6 type security debriefing before you can ask the
simplest of questions .

Name, post code, account number , and that's just to pay the *&%king
bill. I actually told BT that I would give written permission for
anyone calling them to pay my bill could. I mean who would want to pay
somebody else's bill and if they did what is that someone else going
to say? Quick darling call the police some ******* has paid our
Council Tax bill.

The whole thing has become a Kafkaesque type nightmare when under
taking the simplest of tasks.

So what has this got to do with weather? Well UKMO's web site is
enough to drive people over the edge, In the old days it was simple :
we knew where stuff was and it worked. The very fact that the software
'knows ' where you live is ****ing me off more than Dawlish ever did.
Like most of us I'm interested as to what's going on nationally and
then if I can't work out what to expect for my neck of the woods ,
then I'll delve a little bit deeper like we all do. Do UKMO really
think that the type of people who would frequent their web pages only
want to know the weather for a ten mile radius around their bleedin'
home!!!! OF COURSE BLOODY NOT.

What is it with these people that some idiot would think that would be
a fantastic feature. Still weather related I've just cut the grass
and I want to see if the hose pipe ban has been lifted for my part of
the world, Now this is a time when you need to know if the ban is now
regional, but blow me , can I find just that simple information in a
quagmire of Thames Water computer graphic HELL!!!!!!!!!! NO you
bloody can't, everything but a simple national map showing the
extension of the ban. I'm really getting ready to just 'drop out'
ditch all this meaningless modern tripe and go back to basics

Long Live Vinyl, Yep wrong group I know.

What has happened to PG? Sorry if the question is redundant - I came in late, like some Phantom readers.

We know not - we care not. It has stopped raining and the sun is
out. Hooray!
