.... a few miles to the north of you Jim, and it's not stopped
raining/drizzling (-DZRA, ISOL DZRA) since dawn; the sort of stuff that
doesn't add much to the puddles, but gets you wet very quickly!

Total rainfall this month so far (based on 09-09 day) = 33 mm, which, as
July is on average our driest month (estimated 71-00 average is 38 mm),
means we are getting close to 'normal' rainfall with just 3 days gone.

The rolling 30-day total = 162 mm.

Martin.

.... and of course not long after I write that (above), the rain (after a
short / ~15 mins burst of near-heavy intensity), stops! The sun even
shone briefly, though the holes in the cloud have been plugged again.
Very humid but cloud base a bit higher.

Yes the drier period was not sufficient for the pavements to show any signs
of drying.
It did get brighter for a while but no actual sunshine since Sunday.

I really don't choose my weeks off very well, do i?

And as I type this, the sun comes out for the first time this week.

Jim.
