Top temp here in Bournemouth 29.0c, highest of the year.
At my other station at my parents place in West Moors, near Wimborne, top temp has been 30.4c. Martin - how does that compare with you? Hottest day for six years - since late July 2006. Jim, Bournemouth Bournemouth Weather readings online: http://www.g0ofe.com/weather |

As I wrote when you told me about your WM station, my temperature data are lousy; trapped in the 'armpit' of an L-shaped development, facing due south, with re-radiation off both legs of the buildings nearby and my own impedimenta in the back garden; our maximum today was 32.3°C - it's a 'real' temperature, on good-quality m-i-g thermometers in a self-built, but otherwise standard screen - and it felt like 32-odd, but I wouldn't have otherwise quoted it. Jim, Bournemouth Bournemouth Weather readings online: http://www.g0ofe.com/weather snipped various .... I see Hurn's maximum today (25th July, 2012) was 28.9°C, and as you report for Bournemouth, that figure means it has been the hottest day in their record since the scorching 33.9°C on the 19th July, 2006: I believe that figure is close to their 'record' for their data (but only back to the latter 1950s). Sky was cloudless throughout. Jim. |
