Default Watch out Keith!

12Z NAE model has heavy snow right over Southend at 18Z tomorrow. You could
be looking at a good 3-4 inches by midnight. That model is good at
accounting for any warming as well, increasing confidence.

Oh yes indeed. Long time since I've seen lows running into the UK with deep
cold air wrapped all round them.
Plenty more snow to come. As we approach next weekend definite signs of more
of a breakdown, as the blocks re-align once again and the Atlantic kinda
grabs its opportunity (best way I can put it). It is either a return to mild
flooding misery or high pressure right over the UK with sunshine and diurnal
variation in temperatures. I know what I'd like! EC 12Z and 00Z runs should
confirm or not.

Still light snow here, has been since 8am, just cleared Son's car, 4"
on roof, spot on old chap :-)

Just dropped off daughter and Mother-in-Law and A127 rutted with snow,
even back roads in the town are thick and white.

Possible motorist problem in the morning....
Frozen doors and locks - temperature has been hovering around zero all
day, currently -0.1°C so slight snow melt which drips into the door
and then freezes, so getting into cars in the morning may be a problem
as I guess when this clears our wind direction will be west of sorts,
so it will just freeze solid.

Dew point still -4.8°C

Clearing now in Ramsgate. Been going all day (since ~7am). About 4-5
inches here as well. Ice crystals apparent in the very light snow
falling under the streetlights.

Went for a wee drive into the wilds of East Kent:

Very pretty. Now home, fire ablaze.

That brought back a few memories. I used to be Dock Master at Ramsgate
Harbour. We used to berth Volkswagen car ships on those quays.
Happy days :-)

In the late 60's (1960's that is) I had a student job delivering those
new VW's from Ramsgate to north London. The weather related theme is
that the cars arrived at Ramsgate without the windscreen wipers fitted.
Always had to make an assessment of the likelihood of rain before a
quick dash up to London. Lots of Beetles and a real old clunker the
short-lived VW 411 with it's separate petrol fuelled car heater
