Default Weather app

Someone suggested MeteoEarth as a good little ipad app. I have down loaded it, but find weather+ much more useful, and it's free. Somehow keeps track of weather conditions in any city you care to mention.

Foul day here on Osborne Bay, IOW, rain rain rain......

You may want to try WeatherPro too which comes in free and paid for flavours.

WeatherPro is a great app, provided by MeteoGroup, the most accurate I've found so far.

Ok, am down loading it, but it's cost me nearly 3 quid!

FYI
---

Talking of weather apps - I finally got quite frustrated about the
MetOffice weather app failing to successfully add additional locations
on my Android phone. I reported the issue and this is the prompt reply I
received from Exeter.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Wendy,

Thank you for your email regarding issues with the Android app.

We are aware of an issue with our Android App not locating a chosen
preferred location . After further checks it appears that this may be
due to a bug in the app that could be corrupting the locally stored site
list on your Smart Phone. This could cause some sites not being
available to the user. It is possible that the bug affects users when
using the GPS Locator to select the forecast site and has been reported
to our support team for investigation. Until the investigation is
complete and a fix is released, we recommend that you input your
forecast location manually after carrying out the temporary work around
below.

Can we ask you to clear the applications data, uninstall and then
reinstall the app again from the store. This will cause all saved
locations to be removed and a new locations list will be uploaded during
the installation. This should mean that (your first location) appears on
your app and be searchable by name or post code.

To clear app data, please follow the steps below:

Got to Settings-Applications-Manage Applications

Select the Met Office application

Press the "Clear data" button and the "Clear cache" button before
clicking on the Uninstall button

Please accept our sincere apologies for asking you to un-install and
re-install your Met Office App. We would also send our thanks for
highlighting this issue..

Kind regards

Tara

Subject: Met Office App

The app doesn't cope well with the addition of new areas. After a couple
of days I can see the overview page of the new area but it can take many
days before the individual day forecast is available.

I am using the Galaxy S3 phone on Jellybean OS

Best wishes

I know you mentioned that you were looking for an iPad app, but would you ever consider downloading and installing a Weather app for a PC?

I'm just curious because at the moment I'm writing a Windows app that visualises weather data that the Met Office makes available. It's not as flashy as the WeatherPro app and it is strictly for the UK but it would be free.

I would be happy to have a look, but to be honest, I use the ipad when I'm off abroad and find the apps quite useful. On the PC, I have all sorts of access to the weather!

Mike, Osborne Bay, cloudy 3 degrees.
