Default UK's favourite weather forecaster

Just for fun, last week we ran a poll on the website for the UK's favourite weather forecaster, after 25,345 votes, the results came in as :-

1. Michael Fish (35%)
2. Rob McElwee (30%)
3. Helen Young (12%)
4. Alex Deakin (9%)
5. Sian Lloyd (8%)

Others (6%)

Mike emailed me earlier... his reaction, simply, "Should think so!!!!"

hehe :-)

you can still vote http://www.metcheck.com/pollTake.asp?pollID=4

Please do not post in html.

Helen Young is possibly not only the most annoying weather forecaster but
is also one of the most irritating people in broadcasting.

Surely that attribute must be given to the newly- returned Dan C ?

Simon,

I spoke to Helen earlier today, thought you may like to hear her comments :-

"Andrew,
thanks for letting me know, I'm very flattered. I've been off since August
and I'm about to give birth any day!! I probably will not be back until next
Summer, hopefully I won't be completely forgotten by then!!
Helen."

Shame no regional forecasters were mentioned by name - Paul Hudson (Look
North Yorks & Lincs) beats them all by a country mile IMHO.

Far

obviously you need to get up early in the morning to get good forecasting.
Carol Kirkwood who does the 5.55 am stint, gives the most clear and concise
forecast seen on the box, and has a sunny disposition to boot.

I agree Paul Hudson is the best. He is not afraid to use tech speak and
obviously believes in educating his audience rather than talking to them
like children - all this mixed in with lots of Yorkshire humour.

Anyone with digital satellite can of course watch all regional BBCTV in the
UK

Is that really a poll ? of sorts perhaps .If you ask a question
and give people a limited selection of answers to choose
from, its not very scientific .Surely better to ask the question
and NOT prompt for a reply, leave it to the voter to choose
there own favourite forecaster - I would would have put
Francis Wilson as my #1

cheers jrm

Actually I quite like Helen. The one I can't stand is The Welsh Witch, Sian
Lloyd. How she ever got ahead of the likes of Helen Willets in this list
I'll never know!
