In that case, he should have included "at times" "in places" "here and there" "occasionally" "possibly" and all the other words and phrases included in forecasts to make them impossible to get wrong. The period began on the 16th, and we are now almost at the end of the 19th, which in my book is four days without any bitterly cold weather. |

I think I have already had that point made, but if the bullies wish to gather in order to shut me up for merely pointing out the failure of a prediction that now it seems was so generalised to be meaningless, then please carry on gathering. I have become immune to newsgroup cliques. |

significant wind chill at altitude (above 400 metres). And another one quietly bites the dust. Max temp on 16th @ 400m = +6 C with 3 knots of wind. Sorry, that should be max temp on 19th @ 400m Well he did say "becoming" - and the last time I checked it was only Tuesday.... Latest upper air data over Cornwall suggests +6 and 25 knots at 400 metres, which gives wind chill of 0 deg C. However, this will be replaced this evening in the Dartmoor area by air more akin to that sampled over Wiltshire this afternoon: temperature 0 and wind speed 15 knots, which gives a wind chill of -6 deg C. -- Freddie Bayston Hill Shropshire 102m AMSL http://www.hosiene.co.uk/weather/ https://twitter.com/#!/BaystonHillWx for hourly reports |

Thanks Freddie. MetO forecast for Friday above 400 metres is for a max. of -2C and wind chill -10C to -15C, I reckon that would count as bitter :-) Will -- http://www.lyneside.demon.co.uk/Hayt...antage_Pro.htm Will Hand (Haytor, Devon, 1017 feet asl) --------------------------------------------- |
