![]() .... late Sunday and through Monday looking quite fruity for us in southern England. Low slipping across northern France - cold (very cold for this time of year) air cutting in out of the ENE .... PPN envelope creeping from west-to-east .... In the past though, models have tended to consistently back off such threats and there is always the problem of how much influence the drier lower tropospheric air erodes the PPN area .... still .... keeps us on our toes; where did I hide my snow shovel :-) Martin. -- West Moors / East Dorset Lat: 50deg 49.25'N, Long: 01deg 53.05'W Height (amsl): 17 m (56 feet) COL category: C1 overall |

Of course with ground above 200 metres, heavy snow is more certain up here. Also I have mentioned "frostbite" risk for Monday above 500 metres with wind chill below -15C. Latest MetO site forecast for Rough Tor (550 metres asl) has air temperature -6C and wind chill -18C by early Tuesday morning. Going to be some event I reckon! He he I reckon even Nick Gardner in the Devon tropics could even get a bit of snow :-) Will -- http://www.lyneside.demon.co.uk/Hayt...antage_Pro.htm Will Hand (Haytor, Devon, 1017 feet asl) --------------------------------------------- |

Just a few days ago none of this heavy rain in the South was forecast so I guess next Monday is a long way off! Dave, S.Essex |

Frog spawn in the pond, hawthorn coming into leaf etc etc A lovely 12.3°C this afternoon with plenty of sunshine (between the brief bouts of sea fog). Only seen a flake or two falling once this winter, that's more than enough for me. -- Nick G Otter Valley, Devon 20 m amsl http://www.ottervalley.co.uk |

Richard ----------------------------------- Wouldn't be the first time would it! I must say after the fantastic weather earlier in the week I am not overly in a mood for the return of winter. It's all a bit too late really in a winter that has seen snow falling a lot but settling little! The garden is now under water again already! Dave |

At the moment the yellow area for overnight Sunday/Monday is shown as not extending quite as far north as London. Of course that could easily change in either direction. -- John Hall "Whenever people agree with me I always feel I must be wrong." Oscar Wilde |

I'm on the edge of the yellow warning area so it will be interesting to see if my workplace up in the Surrey hills gets a covering on Monday. |
