I knew it was going to be warm today but what was predicted seems a shade on the cool side. It is currently 27.8C in my admittedly sheltered suburban back garden but the heat seems well distributed within the vicinity here - five south-east stations on the Ogimet list were all in the Top 5
06/30/2013 at 12:00 UTC 1 London / Heathrow Airport (United Kingdom) 24.3 °C 2 Gravesend-Broadness (United Kingdom) 23.9 °C 3 London, St James Park (United Kingdom) 23.9 °C 4 Shoeburyness (United Kingdom) 23.6 °C 5 Northolt (United Kingdom) 23.5 ° Wanstead was 23.7C at noon |

Max here at Guildford 25.9c so not as warm here as the continental
incursion on Weds 19th when it reached 26.3c. It would have gone higher but for the 10-15KT wind. Phil Guildford |

Phil Guildford --------------------------- No, it was very windy here as well Phil. You're just a bit further away from the continental incursion this time. |

Not the hottest day of the year, though, which so far is 19 June with 25.8°C. In 31 years the lowest annual max here is 27.5°C in 1988, a very poor summer, particularly July.
