I've been submitting my monthly stats to usw since July 1st 1999. I've
had two responses. The first was by email from someone in Germany
querying my rainfall figures and yours.

There is a God and Her name is Ron.

Thanks for looking.

Hi, Alan,
Doesn't mean no-one is reading them. I'm sure I've replied to you a few times in the past about your tremendous rainfall totals?
I read most posts on uksw on the occasions I pop in, which should increase now that autumn's coming and I'm indoors more.
Best wishes,

The pier certainly looks to have taken some hammering from the weather and the Clyde since I last saw it about 30 years ago. Not long closed then, I believe.
I was living in Cardross 1980-1986 and often passed by en-route to Helensburgh or beyond. I guess your site at Whistlefield is not far from the 'Green Kettle', assuming its is still there after all these years.

About 300 metres to the north.

The Green Kettle is still in business but it's now a bit run down.

I must add that I also read them, since I moved to Portincaple last
year. Your OBS mean I did not set up my own AWS, which is languishing in
the garage. Must sort that out. :-)

If you email me I can add you to my Weather List which means that you'll
