Many thanks all for your advice and suggestions. I have updated the spreadsheet and now the blog. I have spent a great deal of time on it but am now going to park the number crunching for a couple of days before my head explodes. In that respect it is still a work in progress, I will try and add to it as and when.
On compiling the data I've been very surprised how variable snow cover can be over a short distance, and how little snow falls at low levels in the south-west.
