Default Line squall

A line-squall went through here at 0705 local time. It showed up sharply on
the radar. Suddenly the rain was lashing on the windows and autumn leaves
could be seen furiously whirling around even though it was dark.

What's all the fuss about, a bit of rain (circa 8mm of drizzle), a gust of
30 knots and that's it, hardly noticeable. Now a lovely sunny day with a wee
breeze to keep me cool. Temperature is a pleasant 8C, perfect for a day out
on the moor.

Yes I know all the action is up north. Enjoy. :-)

Certain sections of the media have been hyping the whole
thing up again, turning what is a regular autumn storm into
something it simply isn't.
Yes it's been wet & very windy here, but that's nothing
out of the ordinary for the last 3rd of October.

Mean winds 35-40kts in the Channel so not all the action is oop
north. ;-)

CF went though at 06:45 this morning. SW Wind gusting to 27 mph before
changing to a NW and decreasing slightly. Temperature slowly dropped
from 14.7C at 06:45 to 11.1C at 12:00 before rising again to reach a
maximum of 14.2C at 14:30.

Not a drop of rain.

A breezy day with gusts around 20 - 25 mph all morning then increasing
during the early afternoon to +30 mph gusts.

A dry day with 7.8 hours of sunshine.
