Looking on the radar the past few hours it looks like the Kent coast is getting a soaking. One amateur station @doverweather has recorded 18.6mm since midnight. Just round the coast at Minster @minsterweather has recorded just 2.7mm

There has been some heavy rain here at 1230 - 1330 with very dark conditions and little wind as the wave on the cold front passed.
I measure 17.9 mm this morning but some of that fell yesterday though not a lot.

20.8mm fell from spells of rain 0055/1620 (heavy at times), and a brief
glimpse of sun early afternoon.

Monthly total now stands at 32.0mm of which 11.2mm fell yesterday.
