Default Why I like cold weather

As a few of you know I do like it a bit cold. I have found a possible
reason.
On my mother's maternal side my great great grandfather I have discovered
came from Halifax in Nova Scotia, arriving in the UK as a boy. It's in the
blood!!!
Thank you ancestry.co.uk .

According to Ancestry's reading of the 1851 census, my g-g-grandmother
came from "Monsert, USA". On the photocopy, it said "America" rather
than USA and the town could have been Montreal. So it's possible that I
also have some links to Canada, or British North America as it was.

I believe I had one Swiss great-grandmother, so maybe that's why I like
snow.

That's delightful Will.

Much as I hate rain and slush, however, I have to pour some
cautious cold water on it. As an experienced amateur
genealogist, I always advise people not to trust anything found
in any tree published on Ancestry, FamilySearch, MyHeritage and
similar sites. Some of the trees on these sites are meticulously
researched, but others are arrant or even malicious fantasies.
Use them as a pointer for your own research, but don't believe
it without checking.

Nice one. :-)

All my antecedents are Welsh, not surprisingly, but try as I may, I simply cannot get into cool, wet weather. The Surrey Desert is more to my taste. Having said that, the mean annual rainfall here (815 mm) is probably higher than where where my brother and one of his daughters live, Penrhyn Bay, near Llandudno.

I always see if I can verify their research before importing anything
from someone else's tree.

On my mothers side(Osborne) my ancestry stays in Cornwall for 100s of years, generally farming around Zennor, as they still do. John Osnorne was 2 in 1813 http://www.west-penwith.org.uk/zenbur1.htm. Zennor is lovely in fine weather, but it's too often in the cloud for me.

The Easterlings seem to have invaded from the east (not Devon thank God, more Scandinavia), most seem to be in the USA these days. It's all part of Cornish history, ever since the Romans everyone's had a go at controlling the Celts. Finally the takeover is succeeding, just take a look at Padstein & the Helford river!

No, indeed, you don't, until you find out by careful research.
