Up to midnight last night (Dec 28th ),my December average was
11.1 C ,thats outrageous !, there have been quite a few Mays colder than
that.
Presumably many stations in the south of England have similar
readings, which will not really be reflected in the CET stats....

..... and my average max is 13.6C ! Yes, as we were saying the other day,
be interesting to see how much the London temps (or another more
southerly locations) for December are broken by.

Mean temperature here to date is 11.3 deg C, warmer than November and
only 0.4 degrees cooler than October (!)

Mean minimum of 9.5 is the same as September (!!) and warmer than
May.

How do they cycle through wet winters?

Mean minimum of 9.5 is the same as September and warmer than May.

How Central is London?
It's not even in the middle of Reading any more, is it?

Even up here in the (relatively) frozen North, the same is true. I
have 10.07C mean so far for December, November was 9.8C and October
11.5C.

This month's mean is very close to my April mean (10.08C)

December mean in Wanstead: 11.1C (13.5C, 8.7C) that'a 5.5C above average. Not one air frost.
My anemometer has been locked in a S to SW direction since November 4th.

Up to 11:00 on the 31st (so I don't expect these stats to change the
final averages):

Mean minimum = 9.2C
Mean maximum = 13.5C
Mean = 11.4C

The makes the anomaly around 4.0C above my very estimated LTA. This
makes December's mean temperature warmer than Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr and
November of this year.

There have been no air frosts, not even close to one. This might be a
first for December but I'll have to check.
