In the first three days of January we have already had more than one-and-a-half times as much rain as we had in the whole of January last year. 94.4mm as against 62.1mm.

Looks increasingly wintry your way later this week. -- George in Swanston, Edinburgh, 580'asl www.swanstonweather.co.uk www.eppingweather.co.uk www.winter1947.co.uk |

I read 46.5mm at o9oo this morning, but that was for 24 hours; Ballater's similar reading appears to be for only 12 hours, which is phenomenal. That's all going to roll down the Dee to us. I'm glad I live on a hill, and I'm also glad it's rain and not snow. Another way I could have put my statistic is that in the first 3 days of January, we have had more rain than in January and February 2015 put together - 11.8% more, in face. Ian. |
