In message , Ron Button
writes Does anybody know where John Hammond is going....? Commercial station maybe ... RonB I hadn't heard that he was going anywhere. Where did you hear that he was leaving? -- John Hall "One can certainly imagine the myriad of uses for a hand-held iguana maker" Hobbes (the tiger, not the philosopher!) |

I think he was probably the best of the BBC forecasters/presenters. Hopefully we will still see him from time to time freelancing in documentaries, something that he seems to have been doing increasingly over the last few years. -- John Hall "One can certainly imagine the myriad of uses for a hand-held iguana maker" Hobbes (the tiger, not the philosopher!) |

As he said on Twitter - "Time to try something new". I can certainly identify with that thought. At various stages in my career I've taken 'leaps of faith' into the unknown. It's what has sustained my career. Always stayed in meteorology, though. Now into the second half of my 6th decade in the business. -- Norman Lynagh Tideswell, Derbyshire 303m a.s.l. http://peakdistrictweather.org Twitter: @TideswellWeathr |

Nicholas It's a shame to see him go - but they do seem to pop up elsewhere. I remember when David Braine left, also the best forecaster at the time he left, but I understand he's now part of the furniture at Spotlight South West |
