Hi All,
Am sure plenty of you on here have a weather station - am just wondering whether there is a reliable, fairly cheap robust brand that transmits wirelessly to an indoor base? Would be good to be able to access the data on the web when I'm away, too. Despite being a lifelong "weather fan" I've never owned a station! Yes I do plan to do my own research but always good to hear from owners themselves. Cheers Richard |

I would recommend this brand, although it is definitely not cheap. I think that cheap and robust are mutually exclusive - although popular opinion suggests that some of the cheap brands are becoming more robust. There are some entertaining threads on the topic over at wxforum - here's one for starters: https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=35926.0 (although it appears to be more about consoles, it does contain useful advice in some (10%?) of the posts. -- Freddie Ystrad Rhondda 148m AMSL http://www.hosiene.co.uk/weather/ https://twitter.com/YstradRhonddaWx for hourly reports (very few tweets getting through currently) Stats for the month so far: https://www.hosiene.co.uk/weather/st...201901JAN.xlsx |

I have owned a Davis for over 20 years, and am delighted with it still. Bits need replacing occasionally, spiders need removing, and batteries changing, but I wouldn't use anything else.
As for accuracy, more variation comes from the details of the siting. Trevor |

Hi Richard, I've just noticed that there's an article on personal weather stations and sharing data to the web in the current issue of Weather that reached my doormat this morning.

Hi again Richard, The following is a link to my Vantage Pro to give you an idea of what can be looked at remotely. My VP uploads data to Weather Underground every 5 minutes.
