You cannot go back to the old version. I could in the settings before today but I cannot now.

Thanks for the warning - I shan't risk a visit to the new groups again then.

I had no choice Julian.
You'll be put there by google.
The old classic groups are no more.
They have ceased to be.

Knowing it was going to happen sooner or later I've been using it for a
while. As I don't use labels this hasn't been an issue for me, but I
understand that others do use them. Hopefully Google will improve this
(don't other groups use them?). I can post photos without the issues
that Norman has had, so I can understand that he might not be happy.
The only constant is change after all. Whether we like it or not....

I've always found that a proper newsreader is preferable to Google Groups. I
use XanaNews.

Sounds like an example of Hutber's Law: "Improvement means
deterioration."

Me too, combined with a proper news server. The only trouble is that
groups that people have set up specifically on Google Groups aren't
available any other way.

I
use XanaNews.

I use Turnpike, which is excellent but no longer available for download
or supported, and my news server is the admirable news.individual.lnet
(NIN).

I'll have a look at that one later. I used to use Monzilla Thunderbird. Google I find is a bit chunky at times, if you know what I mean.

Thanks
