Right in the firing line here according to that warning.
Much agreement on the track of this low now, but still some variation over
intensity.
The gusts near the bent back occlusion on Friday afternoon could be
particularly violent in the central Belt, helped by a funnelling effect.
January 15th 1968, and December 26th 1998 were classic cases of this.
I don't think it will quite that severe, but it's not altogether been ruled
out either.
Watching closely with a great deal of interest.

I like this bit from the BBC's John Hammond:-

BBC forecaster John Hammond told BBC News Online:

"A storm of this sort of calibre you'd expect a few of each winter. It could
be particularly bad for isolated areas like Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast."

Isolated? Edinburgh?

....not so wow for me though. I am flying Stansted to Dublin Friday morning.
Last time I flew (last November) I landed in the gale at Heathrow that
grounded almost all flights. The plane was chucking us about everywhere and
I have now developed a fear of flying. Any solace Jack?!
Yours, scared,
Dave.
