Moderate rain for last hour or so, temp risen to 3C.

Only snow risk I guess will be as the band clears later this evening. Not
holding much hope!

Temperature currently 2.2°C with light intermittent rain although I suspect
some sleet would be visible on a car windcreen.

Now (11:00 a.m.) moderate snow with temp 1.4c and still falling slowly.
Snow now making a half-hearted attempt to settle on the grass.

And at Luton (155m) temperature 1.8ºC at 1125Z, a few spots of rain in
the air. There's really been next to nothing here so far.

I think you're hope for snow is minimal.

The rain's now cleared Cornwall, and the temperature in Penzance is now 8.5
degrees. It rose, instead of falling, as the rain cleared. At 11:30 sunny
spells and feeling quite pleasant.

With reports in this thread of sleet or snow from Essex, Buckinghamshire and
Berkshire, it is nice to think how appropriate was Penny Tranter's term
'northern parts of southern England', as used on all those forecasts yesterday.
Looking at the radar, I would imagine that snow is falling on the Berkshire /
Oxfordshire Downs, as well as the Chilterns? Any reports?

2 C (steady), rain (with very occasional flakes of snow) now light after
previous mod/hvy.

There's nothing but light drizzle just north of the Berkshire Downs at
the moment. But I am only 55m here. Can't see the downs from my house
unfortunately - so can't comment on what it is doing up there!
