UKMetO:

High pressure (1030mb) lies over Southern Britain and down towards
northwest Spain. Low pressure (three centres of 1005mb) lies over
Eastern Europe and Scandinavia, with another low (970mb) well to the
west of the UK in the Atlantic. Winds across the country are light to
moderate southwesterlies, lightest in the southeast. Most areas will
see a dry and bright day, with more cloud later in the northwest.
Temperatures will be close to or just below normal in most parts.
Beyond this high pressure lies to the south/southeast of the country,
introducing very mild southwesterlies across the UK, with most of the
unsettled weather in the northwest.

pressure (995mb) lies between Iceland and Norway with another low
(975mb) over well to the west of the UK in the Atlantic. Winds across
the country are mostly light and to moderate southwesterlies. Most
parts will be mainly fine and dry, but cloudier in the northwest
later. 850hpa temperatures range from -2C in the east to +4C in the
west. Forecast 2m temperatures range from +4C to +7C in many areas,
but as high as +9C in the west. Beyond this conditions are generally
mild with southwesterlies dominating, with the northwest seeing most
of the unsettled weather.

north of Greenland. Winds across the country are mostly moderate
north/northwesterlies. Most parts will see a mixture of sunshine and
showers - wintry in the north. 850hpa temperatures range from -5C in
the northeast to -1C in the southwest. Temperatures will generally be
close to or just below normal. Beyond this conditions slowly turn more
settled as high pressure tries to build in for a time, before milder
southwesterlies move in as the high sinks south.

.... yep, I bet there are a few beings going round and round on Coriolis
Way who just want to get off! As long as you all keep a sense of
proportion though and don't emulate the adjacently-named FitzRoy! There
is life after the Met Office ;-)
