I know that we've had this thread on here in the past about the lowest high
and the highest low, but it just struck me this morning that we'd be satisfied with a high pressure with centre of 1029mb after the what the Atlantic's been throwing at us, but to have a low with a central pressure of 1029mb is surely incredible? http://imkpc3.physik.uni-karlsruhe.d...ics/brack0.gif Wondered if someone could remind us of the highest central pressure of a low in the archives and if there's a chart to go with it all the better? Ha! Just noticed as well that on that chart there is indeed a high centre of
exactly the same pressure a few hundered kilometres to the east! How many times has that happened?! Jeremy "Jeremy Handscomb" wrote in message ... Well that is a relief really because I was going to post that this was the
worst spell of HP weather I can remember. It really gives HP a bad name! So really it's low pressure gloom not High pressure gloom Dave "Jeremy Handscomb" wrote in message ... Ha! That's a forecast chart, Jeremy - it hasn't happened yet, but I agree that if it did it would be most unusual. On 2nd December 1976 (or thereabouts) there was a High 978 over Scotland. Funny things do happen. Tudor Hughes, Warlingham, Surrey. |

Jeremy Handscomb : Ha! Just noticed as well that on that chart there is indeed a high centre of exactly the same pressure a few hundered kilometres to the east! Now LOW 1031 over Pembrokeshire, HIGH 1029 over the Alps somewhere. Strange looking isobars though. Adrian -- Adrian Shaw ais@ Adran Cyfrifiadureg, Prifysgol Cymru, aber. Hmmm... I see that that chart has been updated. The Low now has a central
pressure of 1031, and the High 2000 miles East has a pressure of 1029... Most Unusual Stephen "Jeremy Handscomb" wrote in message ...
