For what seems whatever now all I seem to have heard them say is yet more
cloud, but it should get sunnier. I sometimes think they should get out more. Here in Penzance it's been glorious weather for a week. Since the 11th there has only been 1 cloudy day. Otherwise loads of sunshine and light winds. Maximum temperatures ranging from 10.9 on 12th to 13.4 on 14th (though today looks like being colder.) The change here is likely to be very much for the worse not the better, to a cloudy & raw easterly. Also I hate that new chart with the huge temperature symbols, visible from Mars on a clear day. Despite the size, the design of the chart meams that Cornwall can never been seen, being entirely hidden behind a jacket. Graham Penzance |

It's annoying isn't it when it doesn't seem to apply to your own particular
area. I can tell you though that here it has been dire and sunless for 7 consecutive days up until today which isn't special. Yesterday was the type of day that beggars belief that someone wouldn't prefer snow. Dark, dismal, moderate rain all day and only max of 6.5C! Dave. S.Essex. Bright, light showers, 7.8C "Graham Easterling" wrote in message ... For what seems whatever now all I seem to have heard them say is yet more cloud, but it should get sunnier. Graham
Doesn't Chris (Stumbles) on Radio Cornwall pick up on your local variations? (no sunshine here for what seems like weeks) Trevor East Yorkshire "Graham Easterling" wrote in message ... Trevor,
The local forecasters are generally very good. It's the using of the weather over SE England, and generalising it as if the whole of the country had the same which I object to. The east and SE have had a miserable time in the last few days, but the same is not true for the west, from Scotland right down to Cornwall & Devon. On the opt-out to the local forecast on Breakfast TV all we get is "wallpaper" music and a caption page suggesting use of CEEFAX. Very impressive :-( Norman. Yep, been the same here in Leeds, sun, wot sun?
Local forecaster said we would get some sunshine yesterday afternoon, but it rained! Again last night, forecast was for some sunny periods this afternoon. I don't know where, but not here in Leeds -- Bob H Leeds UK |

Very impressive :-( Now that's very odd... there is an early morning National and regional playout of recorded forecasts that they should be inserting into that 40" hole. Are you sure it's *every* morning or was it just a one off due to technical problems? |

It is particularly noticeable as the national presenter (Carol Kirkwood) has finished her slot by saying something along the lines of "and now here's the weather in your area". Norman. I remember seeing the forecast and instantly thinking that he's been tactless, to say the least. There was a bit of a hue-and-cry afterwards, IIRC. - Tom. |
