Has been rather muggy today, and about 1hr ago the skies went
black with lightning in the distance. As it came closer there was signs of
rotation and the skies just opened up with a strong squall and hail.
Very impressive for april!

I see there are quite a few spherics ahead of this cold front from Spain, up
through France and now into SE England.
No TS at Guildford, but another welcome 4.8mm of rain in 90mins around 5pm
local.

Hi Joe

All times GMT.

Boughton under Blean (a few miles SW of Neil).

Heavy rain 1800 to 1845 put down 6 mm.

There was one close clap of thunder at 1812 a little to the west of this
location.

Max gust during squall was 26.1 mph.

Temp dropped from 15.2 at 1800 to 12.2 at 1845.

I agree about the cloud, particularly towards the end when the setting
sun turned everything orange and then purple. Very gusty too - quite a
lot of new leaves have been stripped off the trees.

One rumble of thunder heard here at 19:12.
