-SHRA, (SHRA at around 06GMT)

Temp dropped back from 22.5C to 21.0C where it has stayed pretty constantly
for the past half hr.

Looks like being my warmest "night" on record, previously 19.5C (11/8/1997),
but may drop back further before 09GMT.

Min here was 18.8C, a new record for me.
Max yesterday was 27.8C, which I would imagine will be the highest
for 2004.

Hi, Joe,

17.5C screen min. in Copley. Record warmest night here was 17.8C on
13/08/1997. Highest at my previous site in Low Etherley, close by but
100 metres lower, was 17.4C on 20/07/1995 (records back to 1970).

It seems then, that last night was the second warmest in the past 34
years in this area.

Unpleasant morning here, imho. Overcast, intermittent heavy rain, mist,
temp 18C, dew point 18C, cloud base 1200ft and lowering. 9mm so far
since rain started at 0300Z. Looking much the same all week for NE
England with a humid easterly flow off the North Sea.

YUK!

ATB,

A horrible 22°C (22.3 nominally) overnight min lasting from 0430 to
0630 BST here at Ely (N of Cambridge). Then peaking at 23.1 @0740
before falling away again to currently 21.0.

Total rainfall of 2mm thus far in a single shower but starting to
look pretty black again (solar intensity just 9W/sqm !!) with rumbles
starting at 0945.
