Hi Joe,

Shows how local the rainfall can be only 7.6mm her in Kempston. I could
hear and see the thunder over there.

Must be some flooding.

Hi all,

41.8mm in the hour to 17Z at Bedford (03560)

Remembering, of course, that 03560 is actually at Thurleigh (i.e.
the
old RAE Bedford site) which is a good 10km north of the town.

I could see the cunims from here (Luton) ... I don't think I've
ever seen such huge clouds with such massive anvils in the
UK before. 2mm in a shower at lunchtime, a trace since (so far).

Default Impressive Rain Intensities, was 41.8mm Bedford

Quite impressive Joe,

In my post of earlier today, you will see there was also a downpour here at
a rain rate of in excess of 36mm/hr.

I reckon you must have been under that white bit on the radar, Joe.

Cheers

...add another 2.2mm since 18Z. I'd imagine the odds on a hosepipe ban in the
Bedford area this summer must be slim.

Very true, however the grass needs cutting as it's as green and long as
early spring(:

I managed 15.4mm here in the centre of town. Months total now in excess of
100mm, first time since Sep 98 for me.
