Moderate rain most of the afternoon up here, now verging on heavy. Total so far 8.9 mm but the way it's sheeting down ATM that will continue to rise. Not very windy max. gust 22 knots (3.5m agl). Not very cold either at 12.7 deg C. Cloud base lowering, Haytor rocks out of sight. From the gateway to Hound Tor :-) Will. -- " A cup is most useful when empty " ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A COL BH site in East Dartmoor at Haytor, Devon 310m asl (1017 feet). mailto: www: http://www.lyneside.demon.co.uk DISCLAIMER - All views and opinions expressed by myself are personal and do not necessarily represent those of my employer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jon O'Rourke wrote in message ... Not very windy max. gust 22 knots Wots that in English rather than Mariner? We are starting to get windy, steady build from F4 at 1700 to F7 at 2000, odd gust above 40mph. Pressure, wind and temp have been fairly steady for the last hour (to 2100). Temp has also been rising now about 12C. -- Cheers Dave. Nr Garrigill, Cumbria. 421m ASL. pam is missing e-mail |

The photo of your family home on your website shows a mighty tall chimney stack on the bay window side! Hi Robin, Yes we are very protected by rising ground to the west. All damaging gales I have experienced so far have been from the east quadrant where I have had slates ripped off. We are 30m up the hill from Haytor Vale which is extremely sheltered, even in an easterly. In a due easterly there is nothing much between me and Belgium !
