Default Frost in sedate Sydenham

Went out for my evening walk 19:15 surprisingly chilly. Lot's of
condensation on the cars. The lights of the "Golden Egg " amusment arcade
twinkled invitingly, past Morely's Chicken (special offer on the family
bucket tonight) on my left and then right at the Golden Lion pub, the scene
of many a gory murder. By the time I completed my half hour stroll the ice
had formed on my can of Tenants Super, I gingerly stepped over the "big
Issue" seller trying not to kick his dog . By now the ice had formed on the
cars (the ones without wheels, lower down I guess. I paused and reflected
"the mugger boy's are gonna find it tough tonight" . As I entered my drive I
turned surveyed the Eastern vista and smiled, Sydenham my Sydenham..........
what a dump!

Cherie Blair to Tony "it's chilly tonight darling, want another Blunkett on
the bed?"

Tony "Don't you start"

Are you suggesting that Sydenham should be in the next issue of C**p
Towns?

It's too bad for that.

I was just thinking that I have never heard anyone mention anything
about Sydenham. It sounds like somewhere in Greater london. But it
must have something of note, surely.

Oh there are worse places. Though I have to say that the Boots store on the
High Street muct be one of their smallest branches.

A good thing about Sydenham is that if the trains into London Bridge aren't
working for some reason or other you can always walk the 10 minutes to Penge
East... (where the trains are cleaner, faster, more reliable and take you to
Victoria)...
