Default Winter Returns Next Week??

Any opinions on todays METO?

http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rukm1441.gif

Could the High move north and give us a cold blast next week?

Or will the jet remain strong to the north and keep us mild?

Matty

Highly unlikely. Grim until further notice, oh and Christmas is cancelled.

Any model above T+72 is best taken as no more than a remote suggestion,
thought you knew that...

Have you heard of the GFS ensembles? They look good at the long range for a
cold snap

I refer you to the original post which you were replying to. The same
answer still applies. One model output is not sufficient evidence, if 3 or
4 were suggesting the same, then they would be cause for consideration, but
to pin hopes on one model and its ensemble forecast, is foolhardy.

I thought Philip described it well in his Radio 5 Live chat early
this morning. He explained that anything for more than a week ahead is
a fantasy forecast but even if you go a week beyond that, to 22nd
December, there's no sign of any significant cold spell over the UK.

Joe *******i had similar ideas in his Europe page on Sunday.

I'd forget the white stuff for now, if I were you.

LOL!!!

Maybe this would seem slightly more genuine if you were to pretend to be
somebody who actually liked winter...
