Default itv news confirms its juvanile status

itv's 1745 news reader announced this evening to the uk audience that today
had "been the hottest day ever", her stupidity could only have been
confirmed by ITN's bosses.

What's wrong with that?
Unless you think it should have been qualified by the hottest day ever
*recorded* under standard conditions.
But I think we all know what she meant.

I think you are making a fuss over nothing. Let's cut them some slack

here!
OK, it's rather sloppy journalism but I'm sure most people realise that we
haven't been taking readings for millions of years!

Juvenile, or at least dumbed-down, status confirmed by ITV weather woman a
few minutes later who declared that tomorrow's temperatures would be
"better" than today's.

I am getting used to wincing at these subjective comments with regard to
nighttime temperatures, but I am alarmed at this language starting to be
used for daytime temperatures.

I do not question that many active subcribers to USW would agree with Sian,
but that is not the point.

Looking forward to another hot night

Regards

Roger
