windy:
it's pretty easy. bring up advanced options on the imposters message and you can see items like: Message-ID: text here NNTP-Posting-Host ip address: here X-Trace: information here Organisation: NTL various bits of information that can be used to traced back. Doesn't always point to the person that is doing it though, some people even manage to work around that. That will be down to the legal team and the ISP in question when they investigate |

I am an avid reader of this newsgroup and have been for many years now.
Although sometimes there are one or two inflamatory posts from time time you learn to ignore them and get on with reading the informative and useful postings. Of late there has been a bit of a weather forum v uk.sci war going on which has interupted normal service and has become a little irritaing. I just hope that this joker whoeve he is, is dealt with quickly and leaves with the minimum of fuss because it really is spoiling mine.. and I'm sure many others enjoyment of this newsgroup. Whoever you are, I hope you got a huge rush from being someone you're not and are truely happy with whatever result you were looking for, because I do believe your days are numbered! ;-) All the best, Justine. "lima" wrote in message ... christ if your going to be an imposter you use dialup and anonymous LOL not ntl cable :P lima Even better, put on a moustache and wig when you post. Jon. |

Windy spewed forth the following...
Attention all users of this forum! The person posting on this forum purporting to be MattyH of the forums of TWO (www.theweatheroutlook.com) is using false details. This person is also including the personal details of Matt Hewlett and including Matt's personal email address. The real Matt Hewlett has begun legal proceedings to identify the imposter and take action as he sees appropriate. So if the fake MattyH is watching, I suggest you pack it in now. Amen. May the droppings of a thousand curry-eating camels rain upon the head of the fake Matty H. As for the poster who pointed out that NTL are more interested in keeping cable customers than dealing with complaints, like BY and other companies, that can depend upon how many complaints they receive. Remember folks, complaining is easy! http://www.ntlworld.com/netreport/ Or, Direct contact details for the NTL Internet Security Team: +44 (0) 1633 710 142 (answerphone only); national rate from UK And dont forget that most ISPs still use the good old standby abuse@ "insert domain here", so may well be worth a few mails. Do your bit folks, and help stamp out nobbers like this. Next time, it could be you. -- Loz H ~ Hairy, Ugly and Fat ~ CB550F CB200 |
