A woman brought an old picture of her dead husband, wearing a hat, to the
photographer. She wanted to know if the photographer could remove the hat
from the picture.

He convinced her he could easily do that, and asked her what side of his
head her husband parted his hair on.
"I forgot," she said. "But you can see that for yourself when you take off
his hat."

I remember Jackie Gleason doing an expanded version of this joke as a skit
on his variety show many, many years ago.

Horseflies are worse. But then they are pretty slow so you can swat
them.

It's not only the Americans that are stupid:
3 Brits die each year testing if a 9v battery works on their tongue.
British Hospitals reported 4 broken arms last year after cracker pulling accidents.
8 Brits were injured last year in accidents involving out of control Scalextric cars.

We get mosquitoes that big here in the wet season; even the alligators
are scared of em.

They hang around the hummingbird feeders waiting for somebody with a
camera! ;D

During Migration periods I have to refill the Feeders twice a Day.

Amazing shot. I do quite a bit of hummingbird photography myself but I
don't live on a migration flyway and would never see a "herd" of them like
this. In Southern California where I live the most common hummer is the
Anna's and they're year-round birds. My backyard feeders have been adopted
by one King of the Hill, and he sort of guards them against any
trespassers --- unless of course it happens to be a lady hummer and he's in
the right frame of mind. Since they hang around for extended periods of
time we kind of get to know them & vice-versa. If the feeder gets a little
low he'll hover outside my office window and say "Hey! C'mon out and feed
me!" I wish they weren't so territorial because I'd love to see a bunch of
them like in your shot.

Thanks, Ed. I love a good pun or joke.

Amazing picture, btw; I bet you could get that published. Wouldna
thought you'd get so many hummingbirds in Arizona!

Thanks. Part of the reason I get the concentrations and you don't is
because it's a lot farther from the each Feeder or Flower to the next here.
So the result is like having a sign on Hwy 40 1/2 way between Needles and
Barstow that reads "Free Ice Cold Water and Beer".
Our only year round Hummer is called the Magnificent Humming Bird. It'll
try to "Rule the Roost", but as you saw sometimes the numbers become
overwhelming and it'll just sit off to the side and make short harassing
sorties to reminding everyone else just who's home this is.
I wouldn't mind seeing some of your Shots. My address is a valid one
(and yes I get my share of Spam to prove it :-( ). Just do not send prior
to late afternoon/evening. That's when I've been up for a while and have
discarded the junk.
