Thanks, Ed. I love a good pun or joke. That makes at least 2 of us ;-) Amazing picture, btw; I bet you could get that published. Wouldna thought you'd get so many hummingbirds in Arizona! Thanks. I wouldn't know about that, but that would help offset Beer and Model Car expenses ;-). This area is well known to the Bird Folks as a Hot Spot for Hummers and many other types of Birds. It's not just Ravens and Vultures out here, despite what the Movies indicate ;-). Crazy Ed |

So the result is like having a sign on Hwy 40 1/2 way between Needles and Barstow that reads "Free Ice Cold Water and Beer". Hahahaha! Makes perfect sense to me. :-) Our only year round Hummer is called the Magnificent Humming Bird. It'll try to "Rule the Roost", but as you saw sometimes the numbers become overwhelming and it'll just sit off to the side and make short harassing sorties to reminding everyone else just who's home this is. I wouldn't mind seeing some of your Shots. My address is a valid one (and yes I get my share of Spam to prove it :-( ). Just do not send prior to late afternoon/evening. That's when I've been up for a while and have discarded the junk. What's your definition of late afternoon/evening? 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM? I'm in California so I think you're an hour ahead of me. Currently it's 9:17 PM my time so I guess that's 10:17 PM your time. That ought to qualify as not being "prior" to late afternoon/evening. I'll send ya some. -- Paddy's Pig |

Some birds that were brought up here from Florida with Hurricane Wilma have survived the two winters. Too bad I can't send you some of me extras ;-). During Migration periods I have to refill the Feeders twice a Day. Crazy Ed I was looking at some distribution maps in a bird book and south-east Arizona seems to get a lot of different Hummers. -- 09=ix |
