When I showed up they were about the only others here. As to the Picture, I for one can't get enough Aurora Images. I've only seen one once, and it was limited to a Red Glow. Crazy Ed |

Crazy Ed I saw some pretty good ones when back in RI in the 1980's but only have seen a "hint" of one here in TX. BTW, IMNSHO any pic of the sky ain't OT... JT |

![]() "Andy G" wrote in message ... Nice shot! you even managed to get the constellations of Cassiopeia and Perseus in the frame too Well there they were...my last aurora pic (from the same location) has the Big Dipper in the same place. A great effort! Andy Thanks. I didn't notice them until around 4 AM when I stuck my head out the door before going to bed-which I didn't do. Got a phone call from a friend this morning asking if I'd seen them last night-at midnight. He was going to call me to tell me to look outside but he decided that normal people don't get calls that late. jim jim |

![]() "Bob Harrington" wrote in message ... Aurora ~is~ an atmospheric phenomenon, after all I've only managed one decent photo in all my years. And that was nearly 17 years ago... Bob ^,,^ If you want to know the possibility of seeing an aurora at your location try this : www.swpc.noaa.gov/SWN/index.html and check the "Magnetic Field Bz Component" graph-when the arrow goes strongly negative it's time to look. Other graphs will tell you how far south the aurora might get. Thanks to George N. in a.b.p.astro for this. jim |
