after sunset.

The opportunity you and your camera have been waiting for? 8-)
Very nice pictures.

We don't get to see Clouds like until Monsoon Season, Impressive. Looks
like you've got a Reservoir there. How's the Fishin' ?

Problem around here is that all the action is at night. Just not much
opportunity.

Funny thing is that my fancy shmancy camera ended up with two dead
batteries while the old standby (six year old Olympus) was ready for the
task.

Still the pix are mediocre in my book. Maybe early morning tomorrow
will be more productive if the current crop of storms linger that long...

sigh

It's a power plant resevoir, (cooling), but I don't fish. That's for
married guys to get away from you-know-who...

I really want to see some weather action around here but if it all
occurs at night, what's a guy to do???

I Fished a lot more before I got Married. And since moving out here
it's ~70 miles to the nearest Pond. So now I take Pictures ;-)

I've been using this 450 Dual for 8 years now. Never had a reason to
Upgrade.

Had a line of storms pass this morning with a severe thunderstorm
warning for my area. Lot's of rain, distant hail, lightning and thunder.

Once again, all the action was either to the west or east.

I bought my present G4 Gigabit (400MHz) in January of 2001. It is only
the second "new" Mac that I have bought. It runs 24 hours a day and the
only thing I have switched out are the hard drives. I figure four years
of use is playing it safe especially with the low prices (per gigabyte)
for new drives. I also upgraded the CD/DVD ROM with a double layer
Pioneer unit, (same as Apples uses), a couple of years ago.

About three years ago, I purchased a dual 500 that had a bad power
supply for $30. It's still sitting as a doorstop.

A friend, "Grumpo" who is also retired had bought my old Power Computing
604 160MHz tower when I got my Gigabit. He has been struggling for the
past two years on OS 9 and outdated browsers. Despite that he has
cable, my dial up (on Tiger) is almost as fast. Finally, yesterday we
went to look at a newer, (1.8GHz G5 tower), that was priced at $700.
Everything seemed to wrok fine and he bought it and we will be setting
it up tomorrow.

As an aside, I was having similar problems as well until I upgraded from
OS 9 to Panther at the end of 2006. It was like a new world opened up,
browsing the net went from a chore to pure glee. I wondered why I hadn't
done it a couple of years earlier.

Grumpo's real push came after I brought over my "new to me" G4 laptop
that I had just bought on eBay. I played a video of local interest on
U-tube while connected to his cable and he was amazed. (The G4 laptop -
1.25GHz replaced my old clamshell Graphite 466).

I probably will bite the bullet and upgrade my desktop later this year.

Nothin' like being chea.. er, ah frugal!

I'll probably stick with 10.3.9 and this Dual until it's too late and it
dies. But then that's what Backups are for ;-)
