Last Friday, Seattle was on the edge of a stationary weather front
that allowed for a spectacular mountain wave to persist just downwind of Mt. Rainier throughout the day. While these images cover a 3.5 hour period, a local TV station webcam showed the lenticular formation was visible throughout the 8 and change hours of daylight we get this time of year. While lenticular clouds are not all that uncommon around Mt. Rainier, these were some of the most impressive I've seen in my 45 years living here. Bob ^,,^ |
