Default Too Typical Weather...

....Around here. There is a giant ski jump to the left of the snow. Haven't
been near the "average" high temp this month. (except maybe once.) At
least the snow we did get has melted-thanks to the rain.

That doesn't flatter your ski hill much, makes it look about 50m high!

Well it's a bit bigger than that. I'm sure you remember the many pictures
I've posted showing the 1988 Olympic ski jumps at the top of the hill
(actually a river valley). This little hill is mainly for lessons. As well
it has an exact replica of the 2010 half pipe for Olympic team members to
practice as well as the 1988 olympic bobsled track still used for World Cup
sliding events and training. World Cup freestyle ski and board events are
also held. Lastly the place has been developed as a training area
(nutrition, conditioning etc.) for elite athletes in all sports. The REAL
ski areas in the neighbourhood-Nakiska (again an Olympic venue), Sunshine
and Lake Louise are only an hour or two away in travel time and, for me,
infinitely far away in cost. I think you would enjoy them.

I've heard of Lake Louise. I suffer badly from jet lag so I stay close
to my own time zone, otherwise I'd love to visit Canada!

7 hours from GMT is a lot if it affects you (if you came to the Rocky
mountains). Too bad, Canada would love to have you visit. Being where you
are you don't have to come here for great skiing and if you remember my
picture of (here we go) Lake Mini-******, you'll know why I prefer summer.
(Used to ski but at $100+ all up per day it's beyond me now).
