![]() All overnight, the idiots at TWC are blathering about "dry air" entrainment (what dry air?), shear (what shear?) and the asserted propensity of cat-5s to "fluctuate" (when earlier in the day Lyons mentioned hurricane Dog in 1950 going 60 hours at cat-5). Three guesses, and they couldn't get the tail near the donkey. Jesus.... Do ya suppose it might have something to do with Isabel now moving over Fabian's churned patch of cooler water? http://128.160.23.54/products/MCSST/HPCg26.gif *duh*. (I also think Lyons' "two exhaust channels" theory for Isabel being so strong is hokum -- if anything, Isabel's outflow is less than ideal, accounting for the squashed shape.) -- Reply to sans two @@, or your reply won't reach me. ACTUALLY...
Mike, all of the meteoroligists including TWC, NHC, and local ones allllllllll UNDERESTIMATED this storm HUGELY. Did you notice early on the wind intensity errors? They thought it was going to die b/c of the cooler waters from Fabian. NOT SO! This did not happen. That theory has little validity to it. However, i do agree izzy was squashed somewhat and the outflow MIGHT have been handicapped. In fact, the pressure could have been a bit lower. Perhaps, those things might have had something to do with Fabian's wake in the initial development of Izzy. Furthermore, there was some shear and some dry air entrenched. I'm telling you right now if Fabian did not occur and Isabel did not go thru a s/w, it would have been another "Andrew" for south Florida, but a bit stronger. "Mike1" wrote in message ...
